Born in 1988 in the North-Western part of Romania, in the city of Baia Mare, Silva Helena Schmidt graduated the Acting section of Babeș-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca in 2009, where she also completed her master's degree in “Stage and Film Performance Arts”. With an immense passion for acting, Silva went on to refine and advance her skills and repertoire at masterclasses like Izumi Ashizawa's “No Theater” or Ivana Chubbuck’s “The power of the Actor”. She played roles ranging from David Ives to Shakespeare, working in major repertory theatres across the country, while also starting a career as a voice over for Realitatea TV Channel in 2011. By moving to Bucharest, where she is currently based, Silva continued to gain momentum by working at the National Theatre in Bucharest, under the direction of Andrei Măjeri. Apart from theatre, she boasts leading roles in numerous commercials for brands such as Trivago, ING and Vitamax. Furthermore, she was selected in the “10 for Film” program for emerging actors at the Transylvania International Film Festival in 2015. She starred in high-rated television series such as “Las Fierbinți” , “Triplusec” , “Mangalița” , “We were the lucky ones” and in feature films directed by Zack Bernbaum, Jaques Audiard and Tudor Giurgiu. At the moment she is playing in “Venus in fur” at Unteatru and “Inspir.Expir” at Teatrul Apropo in Bucharest, while she is also using her voice to bring stories to life for the audiobooks platforms Voxa and Audiotribe. In addition, Silva is a facilitator for workshops that encourage adults and children to explore their connection with the inner selves and to find their authentic voice through acting techniques.
